Airtel RDC Congo S.A, a subsidiary of Airtel Africa (owned by Bharti Airtel), is one of the four major telecommunications service providers in the DRC in 2018.
It has around 13 million active subscribers out of a total of 47.7 million subscribers in the Congolese market, giving it a market share of 29%.
The company previously operated under the names Celtel and Zain before becoming Airtel on 9 December 2010.
The African shares of Zain International were acquired by Bharti Airtel Limited, an Indian group.
